Sport Administration and Sport Science

Graduate Coordinator: Dr. Sarah Wall

These Master of Science programs provide an advanced knowledge base for current and prospective coaches, teachers and athletic directors, and they prepare students for doctoral study.

These programs require 21 hours of core courses as well as 12 hours of emphasis courses and up to six hours of approved elective courses.

Students may select either the thesis or the nonthesis option.

  • The thesis option requires 30 hours of coursework and an oral defense of the thesis or graduate project.
  • The nonthesis option requires 36 hours of coursework and a written and oral comprehensive exam.

All professors hold terminal degrees in this field, and bring a wealth of public school experience that blends theory and practice in providing positive student learning opportunities.

Graduate advisors check student progress using multiple methods to assess student work.

These programs are practicum based and internship opportunities are available.
