Biography
Dr. Donalson was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She recieved her Ph.D. from Texas Tech University in Curriculum and Instruction focusing on language and literacy in Lubbock, Texas. She received both her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of New Mexico. She began teaching in 1989 and spent 14 years in public school classrooms. She has taught K–12. Most of her teaching career was in Title I/Chapter I (a federally funded program). Dr. Donalson also taught for five years as a bilingual teacher. She has successfully written several reading grants in the state of New Mexico. She has also served five years in administrative positions in the public schools and completed her administrative license in 2001. She conducts her college classes with a "hands-on" approach requiring student involvement.
